The Russian army is deploying a new robot tank on the Ukrainian front

Western media outlets have been flooding the news pages this week with the latest developments in Ukraine. According to them, the USA is preparing to send 31 tanks to the war-torn country. With this, they will try to counter the Russian aggression that will attack in another wave in the spring. What has not been widely publicized is the fact that these M1 Abrams tanks will be a modified version of the original version. These tanks will be stripped of the “secret” uranium armor.

Regarding the news regarding the tanks being put into service in the NATO alliance, the former head of the Russian space agency, Dmitry Rogozin, told the Russian newspaper Pravda that the new Russian robotic tank known as the “Marker” will be able to “destroy Western tanks, including American Abrams and German Leopards“.

How will the Russians’ new wonder weapon perform?

Rogozin explained that the robot tank can automatically recognize and attack Ukrainian combat equipment, including NATO tanks. All this thanks to its artificial intelligence system and machine learning technology.

“The combat version of the Marker robot has an electronic catalog in the control system. This includes images of targets in both the visible and infrared ranges.” – He told.

The director of the air defense museum, retired colonel Yuriy Knutov, told the Russian newspaper Lenta.Ru that the robot combat vehicle can identify tanks manufactured by NATO member countries. They are armed with machine guns and anti-tank missiles, which can have a range of six kilometers.

“The offensive version of the Marker robot tank will arrive in the special operations zone in the Donbas region in February. This tank will be able to automatically recognize and hit Ukrainian combat assets, including American Abrams tanks and German Leopard tanks”.

One of the main problems the Ukrainian forces have with the M1 Abrams tanks, besides their weight and fuel-guzzling turbine engine, may be that they are older versions. They were stripped of the “secret” uranium armor. This can mean that these tanks are quite vulnerable.

To Politician according to the export of Abrams equipped with secret armor is prohibited, because it is feared that if the tanks are captured and acquired by the Russian soldiers, they would easily have access to the most modern military technology.

However, the main question will be whether these stripped-down Abrams can withstand an anti-tank missile. Or more importantly, will they be able to take on these new Russian robot armourers.
