Located on Praia da Baleia, in São Sebastião (SP), and designed by architect Maria Aparecida Ruggieri, Casa da Baleia has a structure in wood and masonry, and a roof with several pitches – overlapping roof coverings. It is a townhouse, with a concept of total integration. According to the architect, the entire indoor area, dining room and kitchen join the gourmet barbecue, the outdoor living room and the pool. “In total, there are 450 square meters of great comfort and welcome. A spacious house, with six suites to house a couple with their three married children and small grandchildren”, she explains.

The connection between the areas, as well as the landscaping and the very well-defined project of ceramic finishes and lighting are the great differentials. The townhouse, which is already surprising during the day, is even more beautiful at night. “The large and imposing houses in Bali, Indonesia, as well as the rustic and integrated architecture of the properties in Trancoso, Bahia, were the great inspirations. Every detail was thought to reach the final project. And the result exceeded expectations, both those of the residents and mine, ”he comments.

The Home porcelain tile with a Travertine marble look was responsible for integrating all environments, including the bathrooms. One of the reasons for choosing it was the color, which refers to the natural tone of the sand.

Again, the naturalness of a house on the beach dictates the concept.

“All the elements come together – from the floor to the painting of the walls, from the white furniture with blue accents to the decoration with straw, natural fibers and wood. Casa da Baleia enchants, surprises and fascinates precisely because of its modern and welcoming rusticity; for this mix of textures and sensations it provides. A project elaborated with dedication and knowledge, and executed in the best possible way. The result, of course, might not be anything other than a totally different property with the personality of the owners”, he adds.
