Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s embassy in the United States said, on Saturday, that it is closely following developments in the killing of a Saudi student by an American citizen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Saudi embassy said, in a statement: “The embassy received with pain the news of the death of the student, Al-Walid Al-Gharibi. Her Highness, the ambassador, contacted the families of the deceased to offer their condolences, stressing that the embassy and the consulate in New York are following the developments of the unfortunate incident with the security authorities.”
According to American press reports, the incident took place last Monday, while the police arrested American Nicole Marie Rodriguez (19 years), Friday, on charges of premeditated murder, robbery, robbery and other crimes related to the incident.
Reports indicated that Al-Walid Al-Gharibi (25 years old) was found dead in his residence, where he had been stabbed in the neck.
And the Saudi embassy indicated in its statement that it was found that the accused was living in one of the upper floors of the house in which Al-Walid lived.
The embassy said, “The accused is currently under investigation.” The procedures were completed with the concerned US authorities to transfer the body of Alwaleed to the Kingdom.
