Accordingly, the draft Law includes 02 articles, amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People’s Police. In which, amending and supplementing in the direction of stipulating that police officers who are considered for promotion to the rank from Colonel to Major General must have at least 3 full years of working remaining. In case of less than 03 years of working, the State President shall decide.

At the same time, the draft supplementary law stipulates as follows: The Government shall specify criteria and criteria for promotion to the rank of General ahead of time for public security officers with exceptionally outstanding achievements in the war. fight and work.

The addition of this content aims to define specific criteria and standards of exceptional achievements achieved in combat and work as a basis for proposing the President to consider and decide on promotion to the rank of General. as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 26 of the People’s Police Law.

Added 6 positions with the highest rank as General

In addition, adding 06 positions with the highest rank of General in the People’s Police, including: 01 position with the highest rank is Lieutenant General and 05 positions with the highest rank is Major General.

Supplementing the regulation that the Chief of Police of the city under the central government, the Regiment Commander with the highest rank is Colonel.

To amend and supplement Clause 4, Article 25 in the direction of stipulating that Regiment commanders and chief police officers of cities under central authority have the highest rank of Colonel.

Proposal to increase the retirement age of police officers and non-commissioned officers

Notably, the draft Law amending and supplementing Clause 1, Article 30 on the service age limit of public security officers and non-commissioned officers in the direction of: Supplementing regulations and increasing the maximum service age limit for public security workers. male increase 02 years, female increase 05 years); increase the age of officers and non-commissioned officers by 02 years.

Particularly, female officers with the rank of Colonel increased by 5 years, female officers with the rank of Colonel increased by 3 years.

General-level female officers will remain 60 years old as at present; supplementing regulations on extending the maximum service age for police officers in special cases.

Time to increase age according to the roadmap: Each year increases by 3 months for men and 4 months for women. Particularly for officers and non-commissioned officers, the maximum service age limit is under 60 years old for men, and under 55 years old for women, the maximum age of service will be increased to 02 years old, not according to the schedule mentioned above.

The time to increase the maximum service age starts from 2021 but does not apply to those who have quit their jobs before the effective date of this Law. Assign the Government to specify a roadmap to increase the maximum service age of officers, non-commissioned officers and public security workers in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code.

Supplementing regulations on extending retirement age for People’s Public Security officers in special cases
