An American woman kills a Saudi student… and the first official comment from the embassy

The Saudi embassy in Washington commented for the first time on the case of the killing of a scholarship student in a stabbing incident in Pennsylvania, Georgia.

The Saudi embassy said statement It followed “with great sadness and sorrow, and from day one, and in coordination with the Consulate General of the Kingdom in New York, the circumstances of the killing of citizen Al-Waleed Abdullah Al-Gharibi in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”

It added that it was found that the student “was killed by an American citizen who lived on one of the upper floors of the house in which the citizen lived.”

The embassy indicated that the accused was arrested “and is currently under investigation,” pointing to the completion of “all necessary procedures with the concerned American authorities” to transfer his body to the Kingdom.

And US media reported earlier that police forces and paramedics found Al-Gharibi, 25, dead following being stabbed in the neck last Monday in a bathroom on the third floor of a residential building in Germantown.

network quotesABC 27Local News reported that police said a 19-year-old woman named Nicole Marie Rodgers of Georgia was arrested in connection with the incident on charges of first degree murder and robbery.

Okaz newspaper, quoting the victim’s uncle, said that Al-Gharibi “was regarding to finish his studies in computer science” in Philadelphia.
