The Administrative Committee of the Lebanese Volleyball Federation held its periodic session in the meeting room of the Michel Al-Murr Complex, headed by the President of the Federation, Walid Al-Qasouf, and in the presence of the members: Ali Khalifa, Emile Jabbour, Ghassan Qaziha, Khalil Kfoury, Issam Abu Joudeh, Assaf Muhanna, Naji Basil, George Habib, Dr. Elie Musa, Ali Abu Ali, Rafik Issa, Antoine Charbel, Ghassan Qirdahi, and Asaad Al-Nakhl was absent due to an excuse.
At the beginning of the session, the President welcomed the attendees, thanking them for their sacrifices for the game, including allocating time to attend meetings or to follow up on matters related to the federation’s calendar. After that, the Secretary-General, Issam Abu Joudeh, read the minutes of the previous session, and it was approved unanimously, so that the attendees moved to study the items on the agenda and decided the following:
Discussing the letter of objection sent by the Al-Zahraa Sports Club in Al-Mina, assigning Vice-President Ali Khalifa and Secretary-General Issam Abu Joudeh to answer it and confirm the legality of the player Christian Assaf’s signature on the statements of the Cheka Speedball Club.
Taking note of the full payment of the financial obligations of the federation’s headquarters for the year 2022 (maintenance and generator), which the president of the federation donated, amounting to 19,600,000 Lebanese pounds only.
Determining the working hours of the Federation’s office, starting from Monday, January 30, 2023, at a rate of two days a week (Monday and Thursday) between 11 and 5 pm.
Asking the Secretary-General Issam Abu Joudeh, the Union Treasurer Assaf Muhanna, and the accountant Naji Basil, to set a date for a meeting with the Accounting Officer in the Union, Charbel Al-Rai, to end all transactions related to the Union’s accounting.
Approval of setting the joining fee for the Al-Ittihad family for the new clubs at an amount of ten million Lebanese pounds, and a fee for re-joining clubs whose status with the Ministry of Youth and Sports has been settled at an amount of five million Lebanese pounds.
Discussion of participation in the West Asian beach volleyball qualifiers (men and women) that will be held in Qatar between February 21 and 24, and qualifies for the Asian Championship finals, and following that qualifies for the Paris Olympics 2024, appointing coach William Al-Asmar as coach of the national teams, assigning a member of the administrative board, Ghassan Qirdahi, to supervise the elected officials and requesting The director of the national teams, Elie Musa, invited all qualified players to join the weekly training, provided that the four teams are selected on Monday, January 30, to send the participation form before the end of this month.
He took note of securing free accommodation following contacts made by the President of the Federation, Walid Al-Qasouf, and his deputy, Ali Khalifa, with the President of the West Asian Federation, Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, for the Lebanese beach volleyball team.
Approving the payment of the arbitration fee for the beach volleyball championship for the year 2022, amounting to 59 million Lebanese pounds only.
Approval of the Lebanese Championship program for the first division for the 2022-2023 season, following making some amendments to it and distributing it to the clubs.
Assigning the Secretary-General to finalize the program for the Lebanon Championship for the second division for the 2022-2023 season, to send it to the members for final approval, and then distribute it to the clubs.
He took note of the approval of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, to sponsor the opening match of the tournament, which will bring together Speedball Chekka and Al-Nujoom Jounieh, which will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 7:00 pm, at the Youth Club of Hamat.
Assigning the championship opening committee from Secretary-General Issam Abu Joudah, treasurer Assaf Muhanna, accountant Naji Bassil, and the selected director of the federation, George Habib, and the necessary procedure to direct invitations to attend, provided that the ceremony includes a brief speech by the master of the ceremony and the two words of the sponsor of the opening, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, and the president of the federation, Walid Al-Qasouf.
Appointing Tony Ghanem as head of the technical committee, and Hanna Al-Zayla as head of the Referees Committee, and asking them to submit a proposal for a list of names for each committee, provided that the two lists are approved within a week of its date, and the discussion in other committees is postponed for further study.
Inviting club players born in 2005-2008 to join the training that will be held in the accredited training centers (Al-Resala Sarafand – Amchit – Al-Shabab Batroun – North Haven) for a period of three months, following which the members of the national youth team that will participate in the upcoming Arab and Asian championships will be selected.
