Russian Foreign Minister arrives in Eritrea to promote relations with African countries | Africa

According to Russia’s TASS news agency, the country’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, arrived in Eritrea during his visit and work in this African country.

During his stay in Eritrea, Lavrov is expected to meet the President of the host country, Isaias Afwerki, and Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed.

The top Russian diplomat previously visited South Africa, Eswatini and Angola as part of his trip tour his Africa.

Eritrea is expected to be the last stop on the tour.

Eritrea is a country in Southeast Africa on the coast of the Red Sea.

Diplomatic relation between Russia and Eritrea was established on May 24, 1993.

In April 2022, Eritrean Foreign Minister Osman Saleh Mohammed visited Moscow.

Eritrea is one of the countries vote once morest UN resolution condemning Russia over the situation in Ukraine in March 2022.
