Thousands of people from the provinces began to return to Ho Chi Minh City to work and study following the Lunar New Year holiday, making bus stations and gateways crowded with passengers and vehicles.
On the morning of January 26 (the 5th of the Lunar New Year), thousands of people from different provinces began to rush back to Ho Chi Minh City following the long Lunar New Year holiday.
As recorded at the Eastern Bus Station (Binh Thanh District) at 3am, buses from the provinces of Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Buon Me Thuot, Dak Lak … continuously docked.
At the entrance to the bus station on Dinh Bo Linh street, there are times when there is a traffic jam because passenger cars arrive at the crowded wharf. At the bus station gates, there are many passengers with luggage waiting for motorbike taxis and taxis to go home.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (25 years old, native of Dak Lak) came to Ho Chi Minh City a day earlier, before returning to work on January 27 (the 6th of the Lunar New Year).
“I took the opportunity to return to the city early to visit my relatives before going to work. The distance from Dak Lak to Ho Chi Minh City does not occur traffic jams”, Ms. Huong said.
A representative of Mien Dong Bus Station said that there were regarding 4,000-5,000 passengers arriving on the 5th day of Tet. The number of visitors to the wharf was not much because they had already disembarked along the road.
Meanwhile, a representative of the new Mien Dong Bus Station said that the number of visitors arriving today is regarding 3,000 – 4,000. Guests are expected to return to Ho Chi Minh City at the highest berth on January 7.

According to recorded at 10:00 am on January 26, on Highway 1 in the direction of Long An to Binh Chanh district, thousands of people from the western provinces also rode motorbikes back to Ho Chi Minh City following Tet.
Traffic volume at the western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City increased, but there was no congestion. At intersections, there are always traffic police on duty, ready to regulate traffic if there is an incident.
Exchange with ZingMr. Tran Van Phuong, Deputy General Director of Mien Tay Bus Station, said that today, arrivals reached regarding 25,000 – 30,000 arrivals.
“It is expected that visitors returning to Ho Chi Minh City at the wharf will increase sharply on January 8. At the beginning of next week, people go to work, so this weekend there will be a lot of visitors,” Phuong said.
