Director Park Chan-wook’s film ‘Decision to Break Up’ was not included in the list of finalists for the International Feature Film Award at the 95th Academy Awards announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) on the 24th (local time). Director Park’s first feature film, ‘The Decision to Break Up’, which was released in six years following ‘The Handmaiden’, was included in the 15 preliminary candidates last month, but was omitted from the finalists. ‘Decision to Break Up’ won the Best Director Award at the Cannes International Film Festival and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the British Academy (BAFTA) and Golden Globe, so it was also chosen as a strong candidate at the Academy this time.
