A 71-year-old man slaughtered the dog he had just received from a couple, reports Sud Info.
It’s a good story at the start, but it turned into a tragedy… René, a 71-year-old man living in an assisted living facility in Wanze, found his days very long.
“I no longer have any news from my family or my friends. Here, I no longer see anyone. The presence of an animal is so comforting”he confides to Sud Info.
Having found himself alone when his dog died, he launched an appeal on Facebook to adopt a new animal. It is understood: touched, a couple from Colfontaine crosses the country to offer Pantoufle to René, a Maltese bichon of almost four years old.
The meeting goes very well and the old man is both delighted and moved by this gesture of generosity. The two donors go home without Slipper, but proud to have accomplished this beautiful gesture, and convinced that they will hear from their bichon.
Unfortunately, by calling the residence service to find out how the acclimatization is going, they learn of the tragedy that happened a few hours earlier.
Around 11 p.m., unable to stop Pantoufle’s barking, he slit the animal’s throat with a knife. The little dog was found dying in the early morning, but nothing was possible to save him. In shock, the generous couple from Colfontaine recovered the body and buried it in their garden.
As Sudinfo reminds us, in such a case, the police must be called to the scene in order to draw up a report and a complaint filed so that it goes back to the prosecution. Without this, no ban on keeping a pet for this gentleman can be pronounced.
