Two days following blocking the way to Belinda Bencic, Aryna Sabalenka (no 5) ensured her qualification for the semi-finals of the Australian Open. Belarus asserts itself as the great favorite of the tournament.
The only WTA top-20 player still in contention, Aryna Sabalenka won 6-3 6-2 ahead of Donna Vekic (WTA 64). Still undefeated this year, she picked up a 9th success in a row, the 9th without losing a set…
Like Belinda Bencic on Monday, Donna Vekic had a very good start. The Croatian thus benefited from 3 break points to lead 4-3, but Aryna Sabalenka raised the level of her game at the right time to remove 9 of the last 11 games of this quarter-final.
