Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has dismissed the heads of three regions of Ukraine and the Kiev-controlled territories of Kherson and Zaporozhye.
Associated TASSthe decrees announcing the above decisions were posted on the website of the President of Ukraine at the end of January 24.
By these decrees, the President of Ukraine dismissed the head of the Dnepropetrovsk Region Valentin Reznichenko, the head of the Kiev Region Alexey Kuleba, the head of the Sumy Region Dmitry Zhivitsky and the heads of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, respectively, Mr. Starukh and Yaroslav Yanushevich.
The decision of the President of Ukraine comes in the context that in recent days, Ukrainian media has reported on a number of corruption scandals involving high-ranking Ukrainian officials.
Earlier, on January 22, Mr. Zelensky gave an online speech, which suggested major changes in personnel in the near future.
After the announcement of the President of Ukraine, so far, a series of high-ranking officials have resigned, such as Deputy Chief of Staff Kirill Timoshenko, Deputy Prosecutor General Aleksey Simonenko, Deputy Defense Minister Vyacheslav Shapovalov.
Acting Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vasily Lozinsky was also fired.
