The Solidarity income seeks to benefit the most vulnerable families in the country, with a bimonthly subsidy offered by the Department of Social Prosperity (DPS) of Colombia. The director of the entity, Cielo Rusinque, confirmed that the Solidarity Income program will not continue in 2023: “The subsidy had been given within the framework of the pandemic to mitigate its effects, that there were limited resources that we did not have and that the previous government had left it available until December 31, that is the only transfer that ends”.
However, other social programs such as Families in Action or Youth in Action They will continue as normal. For now, from Social Prosperity they hope to reorganize the programs that will remain in force, establish a budget and forms of access by people who need it.
It should be noted that to form the list of beneficiaries of the Solidarity Income, the data recorded by the entities: Department of Social Prosperity, Sisbén, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance were taken into account. This selection was made by the National Planning Department (DNP).
President Gustavo Petro indicated that for this 2023 he seeks to benefit mothers who are heads of household with a bonus of $500,000 per month, however, the specific details of the proposal have not been known.
#Important: We remind all the beneficiaries that we always establish strategies for the payment of incentives gradually in each of the programs, this to avoid generating crowds or inconveniences. Today we end with the extended payment of Solidarity Income pic.twitter.com/FToYEgjI6u
