Djokovic: ‘Others are victims, but if I…’
UPDATE YESTERDAY AT 5:08 PM
Magda Linette, number 45 in the world rankings, hopes for the next surprise once morest Karolina Pliskova.
Betting Tips:
- Andrey Rublev (5) – Novak Djokovic (SRB/4)
Novak Djokovic is well on the way to his tenth title at the Australian Open, all the more so since the record tournament winner was able to play in the round of 16 for the first time without pain in his left thigh. Andrey Rublev described the showdown with the Serbs at Eurosport as “the toughest quarter-final I can imagine”. Still: Rublev knows how to beat Djokovic. Last year he beat him at his home tournament in Belgrade, the overall score is 2-1 in a direct comparison from the Russian’s point of view. Betting tip: Novak Djokovic
- Aryna Sabalenka (5) – Donna Vekic (CRO)
Strange starting point. In a direct comparison of the two quarter-finalists, Donna Vekic clearly leads 5:1, but Aryna Sabalenka is just as clearly the favorite. “She’s ready for the title,” says Eurosport expert Barbara Rittner. In fact, the Belarusian has a good chance of winning the first Grand Slam tournament of her career in Melbourne. Betting tip: Aryna Sabalenka
- Ben Shelton (USA) – Tommy Paul (USA)
The duel between the two US professionals so late in the tournament is one of the biggest surprises of this Australian Open. Neither Ben Shelton nor Tommy Paul is set in Melbourne, the former has only been playing professionally since last season. Now the two high-flyers meet for the first time in their careers – a huge success for the USA. Betting tip: Tommy Paul
- Karolina Pliskova (JUN/30) – Magda Linette (POL)
It’s not surprising that a Polish player is in the quarter-finals – although Iga Swiatek was of course to be expected. But now Magda Linette, who had never advanced beyond the 3rd round of a Grand Slam competition, is representing the colors of her country. The task will be extremely difficult, however, as Karolina Pliskova, who has already reached the final in Wimbledon (2021) and at the US Open (2016), is on the other side of the net. Betting tip: Karolina Pliskova
