Intech Additive Solutions shows 2nd generation iFusion 3D metal printer

The Indian manufacturer of 3D metal printers Intech Additive Solutions will show the second generation of the iFusion 150 at the Indian fair Imtex this week. This Laser Powderbed Fusion machine can be supplied with AMOptoMet, self-developed software for optimizing the parameters for a specific alloy.


Intech Additive Solutions made the news a few years ago with this particular software that caught the attention of DMG Mori. That was then the only product of Intech Additive Solutions. The Japanese-German machine builder, which will be organizing a house show in Pfronten from January 30, then made a strategic investment in the Indian group. Since then, the machine builder has been part of the advisory board of Intech. During Formnext, the iFusion was on the stand of DMG Mori.

So now all the spotlight is on the iFusion itself. It is the successor to the 3D metal printer that Intech Additive Solutions built in 2020, the iFusion SF1. The second generation has improved operational safety, requires less operator intervention, is more compact in design and features butterfly valves with automatic filter replacement control without stopping the system. The iFusion150 is equipped with a 500-watt laser. This can be replaced by a 700W or 1000W laser. The building volume is 150mm x 180mm.

Proprietary software for end-to-end workflow

The iFusion150 is complemented by the construction preparation software AMBuilder, software for the entire workflow in the end-to-end construction preparation process. Another important addition is the Parameter Optimization Software AMOptoMet. This allows accelerated calculation and optimization of parameter settings for a specific alloy for the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technology. Founded in 2012, Intech Additive Solutions aims to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing through the combination of software, printing hardware and post-processing solutions.
