In Córdoba, 54 thousand people wait for Deputies to deal with the pension law

After the expiration of the moratorium that allowed thousands of people to access the pension system without the full number of years of contribution, Anses once once more warned regarding the importance of the approval of the Pension Debt Payment Law.

In a statement, Anses pointed to the National Chamber of Deputies, where a large part of the opposition decided not to hold extraordinary sessions or give visibility to projects that come from the national Executive.

This is the bill promoted by the pension agency following the expiration of the moratorium plan provided for in Law 27,260 for women and men who only meet the age range (and not the years contributed).

At the end of 2022, the norm obtained half a sanction in Senators and should be dealt with by Deputies in the extraordinary ones enabled from January 23 to the end of February.

What is the Pension Debt Payment Law for?

The project, once regulated, will enable a new moratorium regime applicable to more than 800,000 informal workers and people without minimum years of contributions qualified to be covered by the pension system.

In the case of Córdoba, Anses reported in a statement that it is regarding “54 thousand people who will not be able to access their retirement in 2023 if the Law is not sanctioned”, “At the country level, this situation reaches regarding 800 thousand Argentines and Argentines, for which the agency stressed the need for said law to be discussed urgently to have a social security tool that responds to the large number of older people who are in this situation,” added the agency.

The Pension Debt Payment Plan reaches two groups: on the one hand, those who have already reached retirement age (60 years for women and 65 for men), but do not have 30 years of contributions made. These people will be able to cancel the debt of contributions in installments discounted from their retirement.

On the other, those who are less than 10 years from reaching retirement age and already know that they will not reach 30 years of contributions. In this case, they will be able to identify and cancel past periods of contributions, which will grant them the right to accumulate periods for their future retirement.

It must be remembered that the National Board of Together for Change decided at its last meeting “not to provide a quorum” in Congress or “give visibility” to any of the projects promoted by the national government or the Frente de Todos in extraordinary sessions.

The measure was given in the context of the tensions unleashed between the opposition alliance and the Government following the promotion of a process to the Supreme Court of Justice.
