Young woman diagnosed with ovarian cancer

A 24-year-old ignored persistent symptoms of abdominal bloating and difficulty eating for regarding five months before suffering severe stomach pain. When investigating the condition she had been presenting, Chloe Etheridge discovered that she had two ovarian tumors: one with 18 cm and the other with 11 cm.

The cancer diagnosis came in July 2022 and the recommendation was that she start chemotherapy immediately. As she had already noticed the other two signs before the stomach ache, Chloe regrets not seeing a doctor sooner.

On January 12, 2023, she had surgery to remove as much of the tumors as possible. Since July, she has been undergoing chemotherapy.

“It was incredibly brutal. The side effects were horrible, I had nausea, fatigue, hearing loss – I still can’t hear some frequencies,” she said, in reporting to The Sun.

On Facebook, the young woman shared a video recounting her journey in the fight once morest cancer and encouraging other women to be aware of changes in their bodies, recommending that they seek a trusted doctor whenever they feel something suspicious.

Kate admitted that she didn’t know what the symptoms of ovarian cancer were, and she believes that most young women don’t know them either. “There are many misconceptions regarding cancer, such as that it strikes older people or people with a history of cases in the family. You only need to have ovaries to be at risk for cancer,” she says.
