Emirates News Agency – Khorfakkan University organizes an introductory meeting for the media

SHARJAH, 24th January, 2019 (WAM) — Today, Khorfakkan University organized the first introductory meeting for the media in the country, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Shamaa, the University’s Rector, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mughni, Deputy Director for Community Affairs and Public Relations, and a number of local media representatives.

During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shamaa praised the academic and scientific value of Khorfakkan University in the region, which was established according to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University. The academic offered by the university includes 4 different faculties, which are the College of Arts, Sciences and Information Technology, the College of Business Administration, the College of Sharia and Law, and the College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Biology. It offers regarding 10 academic programs for the bachelor’s stage and 3 specialized academic programs for the master’s stage, so that the number of students is regarding 1920 students at the bachelor’s stage. And 52 are enrolled in master’s programmes.

He stressed the university’s constant keenness to provide an integrated educational environment for its students and to develop their knowledge capabilities by a group of qualified faculty members in various scientific and academic fields, in addition to providing them with the necessary practical skills that are in line with the requirements of the local and global labor market, in order to ensure the provision of suitable future job opportunities for university graduates.

During the meeting, many axes were raised regarding enhancing and developing the effective media role in serving the university and how to facilitate access and achieve rapprochement with members of the local community.

The meeting concluded with an introductory tour of the various scientific facilities and facilities at the university.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Atta Al Manan Jaafar, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Information Technology, Dr. Heinrich Stahl, Dean of the College of Marine Sciences and Aquarium, and Ismail Al Hosani, Director of Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba.
