The story of champion Kesaco Phédo

Mayenne, land of horse racing, and cradle of many great trotters, saw the birth of Kesaco Phédo. Beginner for the training of his breeder Pierre Touvaiswent to Philippe Allaire et Jean-Michel Bazire to then enter the Haras de Brasse. The bay will have made history by winning the price of america in 2004.

Promising beginnings

Born in March 1998 not far from Bourgneuf-la-Foretchez Pierre Touvais and his wife Dominique Marie, Kesaco Phédo became a banner of Mayenne whose colors he carried high. Noticed by broker Yves Marchalthe future star quickly enters training at Philippe Allairedefending the colors of the‘Wildenstein Stable. The famous blue cap toque light blue played a very important role in the French equestrian landscape. To be counted among its members is a real mark of recognition. These colors are among the few to have dominated the trot, the flat and the obstacle.

Early Champion, Kesaco Phédo began his career in 2000, at the age of two, defending the training of his breeder, Pierre Touvais, before going home Philippe Allaire in January 2001. If he had already walked the track of Vincennes with his breeder, it’s good with Philippe Allaire that the bay meets success there for the first time on January 29, 2001, opening his prize list in the temple of trotting. Once launched, the career of this champion never stopped. With 19 victories and 10 places in the 72 races of his career, he notably won six Group 1s. In 2001, he won the double Criterium for 3 year olds – Prix de Vincennesdemonstrating his talent, both in the sulky and in the stirrup.

America in sight

In 2003, Kesaco Phédo is in training with Jean-Michel Bazire, where he ended his racing career. Driven by this same Jean-Michel Bazirehe imposed himself in September 2003 in the Normandy price (Gr.1) before winning the best race of his career: the price of america – the most richly endowed race with 1 million euros.

During this 83rd edition, Kesaco Phédo and Jean-Michel Bazire go down in history, pinning a new record of 1’12″3 for his first attempt. Thanks to this victory, he allowed his driver to clinch a second victory in the america price, following that of 1999 at the sulky of Money Maker.

Next Sunday, January 29, the resident of Jean-Michel Bazire will find the Parisian ash for the opening parade of the Prix ​​d’Amérique Legend Race, final of the Prix d’Amérique Races Zturf.

End of career and breeding

Kesaco Phédo end his racing career in 2008.

This son of Caballio in Blue and of Feria de Vrie totaled €1,961,313 in race winnings and entered the Haras de Brasse of Marion Richard, in the Sarthe, where he is still stationed. Having been breeding for several years, his first offspring were born in 2006. Kesaco Phédo has notably produced Ave Reviewswinner of 5 year old criterium (Gr.1), Cassandre d’Emwinner of the Vincennes Prize (Gr.1).
