He also confesses that Dave Ryding’s second run inspired him: “When I saw what Dave (Ryding, 16th on the first round) managed to do, I said to myself that I also had to push hard, that there was no reason that it wouldn’t work for me. . But I scared myself once or twice in the second run.”
