Noro virus confirmed in Ernakulam; School students were affected by the disease

Kochi: Norovirus infection confirmed in Ernakulam. The virus was found in the students of Kakanad private school. Three children have been infected with the virus and have been admitted to the hospital. The disease was confirmed following the symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting were observed.

Some parents are also suspected of having the virus. The school is closed for the next three days to prevent the spread of the disease. Tests are also being conducted to see if more children have been affected by the disease.

What is noro virus?
Noro is a group of viruses that cause stomach flu. The virus causes inflammation of the lining of the stomach and intestines, severe vomiting and diarrhea. Although norovirus is usually mild in healthy people, it can be serious if it infects young children, the elderly, and people with other underlying medical conditions.
