Kootanas challenged, Kunkianas supported, and Moza resisted

Palakkad: In the early morning mission on Sunday, Dr. Dr. Arun Zakaria.

Both of these were stationed near ‘PT7’. These retreated when the Kunkis Surendran, Bharat and Vikram entered the scene. Only one cow showed a little resistance. Soon this elephant also changed. With this, ‘PT7’ was left alone” – the Chief Veterinary Surgeon of the Forest Department, who led the mission. Arun Zakaria said. Drug busting was dangerous and challenging. He did not run away and was drugged. Unbeknownst to the elephant, the attempt to do so was successful. The shot was as close as possible so that the elephant did not notice.

The elephant ran for a short distance but the mission team was stationed everywhere. Things became easier when the elephant came this way.

The elephant was in a stupor for three and a half hours. Later ‘top up’ dose was also given. Dr. Arun Zakaria said with the confidence of completing an arduous task. Dr. is hopeful that ‘PT7’ will be a good Kunkiana. Arun Zakaria said. Dr. said that the plain surface and the change of groups made the task easier. Ajesh Mohandas said. A 26-member task force including them played a crucial role in drug busting. Range Officer N. Rupesh was also in the group.

Very difficult
Palakkad: ‘Pantallur Makana-2 (PM2) in Wayanad was very different from the mission. Different from the forests of Wayanad, there are hills and dense forests here. Although the leg injury sustained during the PM2 mission was not serious, he will reach Palakkad with the ‘PT7’ mission on Friday following a week’s rest.

First of all, elephant behavior was studied. Also understood the nature of the place. ‘PT 7’ went to the populated area at night and when he was going back to the forest, he was shot dead. For two years Palakkad R.R.T. (Rapid Response Team) had prepared the route of the elephant. ‘PT7’ elephant is now in Madapadu. Only following this can more training be given. There are many injuries on the elephant’s body. It is given medicine. R.R.T stopped the elephant from leaving the forest border. Dr. Tantra is critical to the mission. Arun Zakaria said.

A historic mission at the end of ‘Ripped’
Palakkad: The journey made by the forest department to bring the drugged ‘PT7’ elephant from Korma Arimanikat in Dhoni to the cage in the premises of the Forest Division office in Dhoni was eye-catching.

‘PT 7’, who was drugged and passed out around 8.30 am, was taken to the lorry by preparing a road and a platform in the forest. It took regarding three hours. After loading the elephant into the vehicle, the lorry was accompanied by a jeep that sounded a special siren. During Dhoni’s six-km journey to the One Division office, locals gathered all along the way to catch a glimpse of ‘PT7’.

Due to the speed of the vehicle, many might not see the elephant clearly. The vehicles of the Forest Department and the Rapid Response Team (RRT) also sped behind the speeding lorry. Police vehicles were also present to provide security. The lorry carrying ‘PT7’ passed quickly in front of those who were waiting near the Dhoni forest office.

Heavy security was also maintained by the police at the forest office. On the way the vehicle was passing, the police stopped other vehicles and arranged the traffic. ‘PT7’- Nethedi and other wild elephants have been guarded at night to prevent them from reaching Dhoni’s cage.
