After reaching the age of fifty, a person should pay close attention to his health, because at this age the risk of developing some serious diseases increases.

In the following report, “The Consulto” reviews the most prominent diseases that a person may contract following the age of fifty, according to “WebMD”.

Sudden health problems following the age of fifty

1- Heart attack

It is a possible disease following the age of fifty, and chest pain is one of the most prominent warning signs of it, in addition to shortness of breath, excessive sweating, dizziness, and back, shoulder and neck pain.

A heart attack following fifty can be prevented by the following:

Loss of excess weight.

Follow a healthy diet.

Exercising daily.

2- Stroke

A stroke occurs when the flow of oxygen-carrying blood to one part of the brain is reduced or stopped, putting cells at risk of damage and atrophy.

The symptoms of a stroke are the following:

Body numbness.

Pain in the extremities.

Blurred vision.

Difficulty speaking.

To prevent a stroke, you must stop smoking, pay attention to good nutrition, and exercise regularly on a daily basis.

3- Gallstones

If you feel severe upper abdominal pain following the age of 50, you likely have gallstones, especially if you are obese and diabetic.

In this case, you should urgently see a doctor, because gallbladder removal is the only way to recover.

4- Acute pancreatitis

One of the complications resulting from obstruction of the bile ducts associated with neglecting the treatment of gallstones, and its symptoms appear in the form of “abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever.”

The pancreas may also become inflamed due to consuming alcoholic beverages, so it must be completely avoided, with the need to quickly seek medical help, as soon as the warning symptoms appear.
