In the following paragraphs, learn all regarding the feature and how to activate it out there!
Compatibility
AirPods separation alerts are available on the following models:
- AirPods (3rd generation)
- AirPods Pro (all generations)
- AirPods Max
How to Activate AirPods Separation Alerts on iPhone/iPad
open the app Seek (Find My) and select the “Devices” tab. Then tap on your AirPods and, further down, check “Notify When Forgot”.
Then enable the feature and follow the on-screen instructions. If you want to add a trusted location, choose a suggestion or tap “New Location”, then select a location on the map and tap “OK”. In that case, you won’t be alerted if you forget them in those trusted places (like your home or work, for example).
How to enable AirPods separation alerts on Apple Watch
Open the Find My Devices app on your watch and tap your AirPods. Then select “Notify When Forgot” and enable it.
How to Activate AirPods Separation Alerts on Mac

Click “Notify When Forgot” and enable the feature. Further down, it is possible to add reliable locations, that is, that will not alert you when you move away from the headphones.
