Cinephiles will have the opportunity to live several experiences at the Ciné-centre and outside the walls during the 32e Sept-Îles Film Festival from February 2 to 12. The program unveiled on Wednesday includes a dozen special activities. It ranges from a free children’s screening to showing movies so bad they’re good.
The opening ceremony includes a visit from actress Sara Montpetit, who plays the lead role in the movie “Falcon Lake.” After the screening, she will participate in a round table. The Shaputuan Museum on boulevard des Montagnais in Uashat will welcome festival-goers for the closing ceremony.
Off Festival
The Louis-Ange-Santerre Library is offering a free screening for children at the Small Theater of the Socio-Recreational Center of the film “Lyle the ladybird”. Two Quebec films “Après ski” (1971) and “Camping sauvage” (2005) are included in the program as “Film so bad, it’s good”.
An improv evening with special themes, a Ciné-Quiz and a mini-training on the secrets of screenwriting are also among the activities of CinéSept 2023.
The idea of the theme of the 32e edition “Come and see!” is to make the event accessible to all and to make it a collective experience. Last year, the festival was limited by COVID health constraints. The organizing committee has decided to offer 100 tickets to customers of community organizations in Sept-Îles.
