Chicago side, Coco Elysses is now president of the legendary, half-century-old Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), whileUgochi Nwaogwugwu lends all its voices its voice and its poems to the efforts of re-enchantment through the art of South Side. Collectively, these five have never stopped dealing with multiple identities and influences, from folk to noise and minimalism. »

“Solar Ship is a musical ship that set sail from the shores of the Black Stone Orchestra. Coming from this big band noticed in France and like the Clermont scene, Solar Ship keeps the energy of the collective to try out a smaller formation. The test is obviously a success, in particular thanks to the warmth of the brass (sousaphone and saxophones) which improvise a dance on a rhythmic bass / drums always at ease with improvisation. It’s up to you to share with the musicians of the combo this musical exploration from jazz to afro, rock or even hip-hop rhythms. »

“Kling! Extend-tet aims to perform live, exclusive music on stage, in the jazz aesthetic, and strives to offer the various spectators a listening experience in which they invest freely. The repertoire, made up of personal compositions, is thought out by program, composed “in one go”. This allows you to put on a strong and coherent show, and to know in advance what springs the set will be made of. The compositions are notably designed with the “standard” tools/designs of jazz music (melody, score notation, chord chart, etc.) but also thanks to other more informal tools (texts/instructions/ movements to guide the performers). From this second tool of composition arises a music that is continually new since it is not “really” written, in which the musicians have another form of freedom; more room for improvisation, listening between the musicians themselves, and, live, more room for listening to the public. »

A sulphurous mixture bringing together the folklore of New Orleans, the electric atmosphere of the group and the suave voice of Hugh. »
