Badih Abou Chacra: Acting is not a show of muscles

The Lebanese actor, Badih Abu Chakra, confirmed that acting is not a show of muscles, and that the actor’s display of his acting capabilities is devastating, and each role must be given its need and size.

During his media appearance with the Damascus Night Show, he considered that the most complex roles require a simple performance, and this applies to his last role in the series “Stelto”, which carried within it a contract and many problems and required him to perform in a simple and easy way, away from the complexities of the personality.

From here, Abu Shakra indicated that he prefers short works that raise controversial topics and open the way for other seasons, “because this helps to know the opinions and criticisms of the audience and adopt them when writing new parts,” as he put it.

As for the injustice of the Lebanese actor and his exclusion from the championships of the Arab series, he said: “Lebanon does not have a dramatic industry, such as Syria and Egypt, for example, and this matter has nothing to do with people, but rather an institutional work,” indicating that there was no plan from the concerned authorities to revive this sector. And transforming it into an industry, just as the return of local Lebanese drama and productions is not impossible, and its absence is only a temporary stage linked to several circumstances, as it is not possible for every country not to have a drama that reflects its culture, environment and way of life.
