Covid-19, flu and bronchiolitis are down in Yonne

According to the weekly update carried out by the Regional Health Agency of Bourgogne Franche-Comté, this Friday, January 20, 2023, winter epidemics (covid-19, bronchiolitis and influenza) continue to decelerate in the region.

Covid-19: indicators down sharply

The Covid-19 continued to decline in the region this week. The incidence rate in the general population is approaching the alert threshold (50 cases). It stands at 56 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the period from January 10 to 16, 2023 in Bourgogne Franche-Comté, once morest 91 cases over the previous period. In Yonne, the incidence rate is 61 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 87 over the previous period.

The test positivity rate is also down. All departments in the region are now below the 10% alert threshold. The rate is 7% on average in the region and 7.3% in Yonne.

The number of people hospitalized is also down. At the regional level, out of 802 patients, 372 are hospitalized for the main reason Covid, this Friday. Of 48 people in intensive care, 24 are also for Covid reasons. In Yonne, 60 patients out of 191 are hospitalized due to Covid-19, including 3 people out of the 7 who are in intensive care.

The region still in the epidemic phase for the flu

Bourgogne Franche-Comté has not yet emerged from the epidemic phase of the flu. The virus nevertheless continues its decline in activity in the emergency services and at SOS Médecins, according to the epidemiological point published Thursday by Public Health France. The flu vaccination campaign is extended until February 28.

Bourgogne Franche-Comté is one of the French regions still in the epidemic phase for bronchiolitis. Like the flu and Covid-19, the activity of the virus continues to decline, especially among children under 2 years old, in the emergency room and at SOS Médecins.
