UK“You are not very talented”, launches the judge to the thief

A young Englishman has been heavily sentenced for car theft and burglary.

Shaquille Campbell, 26, had just been released from prison when he once more chained the crimes.

Kent Police

A young man was tried on Tuesday in Maidstone, Kent, for a series of burglaries and car thefts. He received a heavy prison sentence. And the judge allowed himself during the hearing an astonishing remark: he told the defendant that he was “not very talented”.

Shaquille Campbell, 26, stole a Porsche from a house in suburban London in September. His DNA was identified in the car he finally abandoned, reports «Metro».

Since then, he has robbed at least three houses in England, sometimes ransacking the premises and leaving with televisions, PlayStation, jewelry or designer clothes. On one occasion he fell in front of the occupants and pushed and threatened them. He left with their BMW.

It was at the wheel of this car that he was finally arrested, north of London, in mid-November. Spotted by the police, he had however tried to flee and had hit another car.

A repeat offender

“You have been a criminal for more than half your life,” the judge told him. The British daily specifies that Shaquille Campbell committed his first thefts at 12 years old. “It was said that you felt bad for what you did, but that didn’t stop you. You must turn away from a life of crimes because you are not very good at it, ”said the judge.

The young man was finally sentenced to 7 years and 8 months in prison. A heavy sentence which is explained by his numerous crimes. But also because he “becomes violent” when he finds himself confronted with his victims. Because he did not hesitate to risk the lives of other road users during his escape attempt. And because he is a repeat offender: he had just served a 3-year prison sentence when he started his series of thefts once more.
