Kitzbühel reception of the state of Tyrol | State of Tyrol

  • LH Mattle officially started the Kitzbühel weekend together with Roswitha Stadlober and Michael Huber

The Hahnenkamm races in Kitzbühel inspire thousands of sports enthusiasts from all over the world every year. After a two-year break, the traditional Kitzbühel reception of the state of Tyrol took place once more this year. LH Anton Mattle invited to the “Goldene Gams” in the middle of Kitzbühel’s old town to join Roswitha StadloberPresident of the Austrian Ski Association, and Michael Huber, President of the Kitzbühel Ski Club, to officially open the race weekend. In addition to members of the Tyrolean state government, around 100 invited guests came to the “Golden Gams”.

“I’m delighted that this year’s Hahnenkamm races can take place once more in the form we know them from. Because the Kitzbühel weekend is not only characterized by top sporting performances every year, but also by the many spectators who cheer for the athletes. Whether in live broadcasts or directly on site: the enormous appeal of such top-class sports events is important for Tyrol as a sports and tourism location. After all, these pictures go around the world. At this year’s races, this radiance will be even more noticeable than ever: The joy of a joint sports festival that can be experienced together once more will not only be reflected on site, but also in the pictures.” LH Mattle convinced. At the same time, he emphasizes: “This weekend should be regarding celebrating the sport and the outstanding performances. For us spectators, there are goosebump moments when the athletes conquer the Streif and the Ganslernhang. However, the athletes work towards such moments all year round – this requires a high degree of discipline, strength and courage. They deserve our recognition and respect. I’m looking forward to an exciting race weekend.”
