The recognized workout app SmartGymdeveloped by the Brazilian Matthew Abrasgot yet another powerful update today — just a few months following gaining support for features released by Apple with the iOS 16.
The software is getting news like new widgets, monthly summaries, redesigned sections and even new shortcuts. Shall we take a look at each of the main news?
Next Sheet
One of SmartGym’s most loved widgets is the Next Sheet, which allows users to see what the next training routine is. The success of the resource made Abras also take it to the main tab of the software.
Now, we can have a special section that shows both what is the next sheet to be followed and the amount of routines that were done during the week.
Monthly Summary
One more function derived from a resource that was successful among users, the Monthly Summary (Monthly Summary) it’s sort of a 30-day version of the annual retrospective that was released a few weeks ago on the app.
As users love it, it will now be possible to get detailed statistics on progress during a specific month.
You can see how many workouts were done, how many calories were lost and how much exercise time was spent during the month. The feature is retroactive, which means you can see statistics for months before the update.
Redesigned sheets and exercises
With SmartGym 6, the feature was released muscles, which easily provides information regarding the muscular state of the users and even how much a certain exercise routine will demand on the muscles. Now, this section has been redesigned and all this information has been taken to the app’s main screen.
Another thing redesigned was the “Exercises” tab, which is inside each file. According to Abras, now each exercise has characteristic illustrations, which make it easier to know which is which with just a more superficial look.
new widgets
Widgets are an excellent way to get information regarding a certain application without necessarily opening it. SmartGym, which already has a bunch of them, is now releasing a new group of widgets called Monthly Exercises (Monthly Workouts)which can be added to the Lock screen and Home screen in small, medium and large sizes.
new shortcuts
Shortcuts are also another way to get convenience using apps on iOS, as they allow you to perform tasks with just a tap outside the app or even asking the Siri. In this update, some of the existing ones were updated and new ones were released.
The app now has five predefined shortcuts:
- Start Today’s Workout with SmartGym
- Start a Workout with SmartGym
- View SmartGym History
- SmartGym Monthly Summary
- View SmartGym Body Measurements
heart rate bands
Finally, there is now an update to the feature that shows heart rate intervals, with the arrival of greater detail of each workout done by users.
SmartGym is free to download, but to enjoy all the features that the app offers, you need to subscribe to its premium version, which costs BRL 19 for the monthly plan and BRL 110 for the annual plan.
