“It is not acceptable what is happening at the moment”

The situation of the many injuries among the Canadians was addressed to GM Kent Hughes on Wednesday, who did not hide that there was indeed room for improvement in this regard.

For our informant Renaud Lavoie, not only must things change, but they must do so quickly.

“We are really at a crossroads. Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton must say to themselves that something absolutely must be done to stop the carnage. It’s 14 players since the start of the season who have gone through the infirmary. Last year it was 20. It is not acceptable what is happening at the moment. The CH must find a solution.

To support his statements, Renaud cited as an example the case of Sean Monahan, on the sidelines for a very long time.

“He had a broken foot. But that’s not why he’s absent right now. It’s because he played with that injury, so the hip and groin compensated. So instead of being absent for two weeks, we are now at six! And it’s not over! We are told he is close to a comeback. But we have been told that for two weeks!”
