Friborg Olympic and Vevey Riviera won on Wednesday evening and are thus hanging on behind the leader of the SB League, Massagno.

Second in the standings, the Fribourgeois won easily in Nyon 45-80. A 17-4 in the first quarter for Petar Aleksic’s men quickly made it clear to the Vaudois, penultimate in the standings, that the evening would be long.

Jordan Davonta (18 points) and Boris Mbala (14) were the best Friborg scorers. This victory allows Olympic to come back to within two lengths of the Ticino (24 points).

Vevey wins at the end

Just behind, now two points behind Fribourg, Vevey remains third thanks to its victory in Birsfelden once morest Starwings 78-83. Led by five points at halftime, the players coached by Niksa Bavcevic bided their time. They took the lead 7’51” from the end and never let go.

In the last match of the evening, Monthey failed to overcome Swiss Central. The Chablaisiens lost in Lucerne 87-80, giving the hosts their second victory of the season. Swiss Central nevertheless remains last (4 points), four lengths behind Nyon, and BBC Monthey is in seventh place (10 points).
