Bau Duc announced that he is ready to dissolve HAGL and not attend the V-League 2023 if VPF bans the home team from promoting the brand for the newly signed sponsor.
A few days before the start of the 2023 season, HAGL announced that it had found a new sponsor to replace the old brand with great enthusiasm, following a period of gloom due to the force of fluctuations.
However, on January 18, VPF sent a written request and asked HAGL not to use images of new sponsors in tournament-related activities to ensure the interests of sponsor V. -League (also an energy drink brand).
After receiving the official letter, elected Duc spoke to the media when he said:If VPF does not agree to promote the sponsor, we will stop playing, this is very simple. HAGL has the right to choose to play or take a break from next season.
No football team in the world can survive without sponsors. I suspect VPF has other motives, possibly personal enmity.
The previous seasons were also energy drinks sponsoring HAGL, but now banned? It’s not good for VPF to do that, it’s not easy to find sponsors these days, not to mention we signed a comprehensive commercial cooperation, not just football.
For more than 20 years in football, I find this ban too unreasonable, not to mention that if we don’t attend the V-League, we have to compensate the contract, not the game. And when I don’t have a choice, I’ll probably disband HAGL…”
In addition to the response from the German election, HAGL side also sent a response letter to VPF with the desire “consider all legal aspects” in order to create favorable conditions for HAGL to cooperate with new sponsors for the 2023 season as well as the following years.
“We always operate in the spirit of market demand, cooperate with the Organizing Committee and the general rules of the tournament with the aim of sustainable development and contribution to Vietnamese football.” – HAGL’s official letter closes.
