A French immigrant family threatened with federal deportation launches a crowdfunding campaign to allow them to support themselves while they try additional steps to obtain a new status.

Immigration Canada has refused the extension of the work permit of Aurélie Martin and Flavien Di Virgilio.
The couple and their three children, who have been living in Quebec for two years now, have 90 days to try to regularize their situation, otherwise they will have to leave Quebec soil.
But the processing times make the task improbable, especially since they no longer have the right to work and are therefore without income.
But the family has not yet given up on their Quebec dream. Aurélie Martin and her husband intend to continue their crusade to obtain another work permit.
“We want so much to stay in your country, which is a favorite for us and a way of life that suits us completely. We made the decision to persevere for another two months, the time for the immigration application to be processed”, they specify, on the Gofundme site.
Their stubbornness has a price, however, since they are now without a salary. “We have no more income and need help because with three children it is not going to be easy. With his funds, we will fill our fridge and pay the essential bills (Hydro-Québec, housing insurance…). As soon as our situation is restored, the surplus of its funds will go to an association in order to help in our turn”, underlines the family.
The couple must also provide for the cost of plane tickets for the five members of the family with a view to a possible return to France, if ever their efforts prove in vain.
