At 8 pm on January 18, the leader of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, said that there was an accident at the scene of the rescue, causing the removal of Hao Nam’s body from the concrete pillar to be delayed than expected.

Talking to reporters on the evening of January 18, Mr. Doan Tan Buu – Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, said that throughout today, the rescue force has made efforts to carry out the work of scooping soil in the steel pipe, to reveal the joints of the 2nd and 3rd segments of the concrete pillar.

However, during the implementation process, by this followingnoon, a part of the ground in the steel wall frame collapsed, so the force at the scene focused on fixing this problem. The equipment at the scene also had a problem, which has now been fixed.

At regarding 8pm on January 18, Mr. Doan Tan Buu – Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee, said that the rescue force might not bring the victim’s body to the ground as expected.

The above incidents delayed the removal of Thai Ly Hao Nam’s body from the concrete cylinder following 19 days of being trapped inside. Taking Nam’s body out might not be done tonight.

According to local leaders, it is expected that tomorrow, the rescue force will complete the task and bring the child’s body back to his family.

Still according to Mr. Buu, following taking Nam’s body out of the concrete cylinder, the functional forces will carry out the necessary procedures, then hand over his body to his family.

After 19 days of the incident, the rescue force brought the first pillar to the ground.

Like People It was reported that around 11:30 a.m. on December 31, 2022, Thai Ly Hao Nam (10 years old) and 3 neighbors went to the Roc Sen bridge located on provincial road 857, Phu Loi commune, Thanh Binh district to pick up iron.

When he and a group of friends went through the construction, Nam fell into a concrete pillar that had been driven into the ground regarding 35m deep. Hollow concrete pillar inside, diameter 25 cm.

Seeing this, Nam’s group of friends called for help. Those present at the construction site came to the rescue but failed.

Thus, following 19 days, hundreds of people alternately worked around the clock to bring Hao Nam’s body out of the 35m-deep concrete cylinder.
