Case of the Brabant killers: the former Belgian gendarme, Robert Beijer, arrested in Thailand

This means that the former constable can potentially be expelled from the country. This arrest may also allow the Belgian authorities to question Robert Beijer.

“The purpose of the international rogatory commission is to find out as much as possible regarding the case of the Brabant killers. There is therefore a search for evidence at his home but also the possibility of hearing him if necessary.”

In reality, this mission to Thailand was supposed to take place two years ago but was hampered by the health crisis. There is therefore no link between the searches and looking for a weapon in the Damme canal a few weeks ago.

Contacted by RTBF, Robert Beijer’s lawyer, Me Pierre Chomé, indicates that he is awaiting information on the duties in progress.

Me Chomé recalls that Robert Beijer has always denied any involvement (in the Brabant killings) and that he had been heard, on a voluntary basis, by the investigating judge a few years ago.
