When the Covid 19 pandemic began, we all realized something: what was most needed in the country were artificial respirators. We health system providers spend whole days getting the latest generation, efficient, effective equipment for all the provinces. Many of us worked so that doctors might save hundreds of people who needed respiratory assistance.

These teams allowed many people to get out of this terrible disease and this increasingly shows the help that medical equipment and technology are providing. Throughout the world, life is lengthening thanks to new discoveries, new technologies, the revolution that medicine is experiencing today.

Among the main benefits of technology in health is the greater effectiveness of treatments. Not only in reference to the use of medicines, but also in the development of teams that can be part of a recovery.

Throughout the world, life is lengthening thanks to new discoveries, new technologies, the revolution that medicine is experiencing today

These advances include a wide range of devices, both for recovery and prevention, which today is a major item in medicine, from ultrasound machines to complete neonatology equipment, multiparameter monitors, infusion pumps, etc. These are technologies that are benefiting patients every day.

The development of new techniques and processes also considerably improves the detection of known diseases, as well as unknown ones that arise around the world. There are hundreds of procedures, each of which uses equipment designed and perfected over time to obtain more accurate diagnoses. And the speed of getting them can make a big difference.

Today we are also entering the new world of artificial intelligence for health. According to new guidance from the WHO, artificial intelligence (AI) holds great promise for improving the delivery of healthcare and medicine around the world.

AI might allow patients to be more in control of their own health care and better understand their evolving needs

Artificial intelligence can be used to improve the speed and accuracy of disease detection and diagnosis; facilitate clinical care; strengthen health research and drug development; and support various public health interventions, such as morbidity surveillance, outbreak response, and health systems management.

AI might also allow patients to be more in control of their own health care and better understand their evolving needs. In addition, it might facilitate access to health services in resource-poor countries and rural communities, where patients often have difficulty accessing health workers or medical personnel.

Technology is generating a revolution in medicine for the whole world, we just have to democratize resources and make them accessible to each individual in our country.
