The prize was awarded to the general manager of the ONMT, Adel El Fakir, by Josep Palau, director of the magazine Viajar.
Viajar, the Spanish magazine specializing in tourism and travel has named Morocco “Best emerging sustainable destination for the year 2022-2023”, on January 17, 2023, in Madrid.
The award was given to the Director General of theONMT, Adel El Fakirpar Joseph Palaudirector of the revue travel, during a networking event organized by “Real Fábrica de Tapices”. On this occasion, Adel El Fakir declared “I am honored to receive this prize which consecrates the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco in the field of sustainable tourism. This recognition reinforces the influence of the Morocco brand through the attributes of sustainability and responsibility to which travelers around the world are very sensitive.
Organized in the presence of 250 senior executives from tour operators and airlinesthis meeting made it possible to confirm the performance of Morocco on the spanish marketleading market in terms of performance recovery of the year 2019 (98% at the end of November 2022).
