The trial for the murder of Fernando Báez Sosa continues, and Wednesday marks the 3rd anniversary of the crime, which occurred in the early morning of January 18, 2020. For the anniversary, his parents, Silvino and Graciela Báez Sosa, made a request to society to remember him with the solidarity that stands out from his person.
It is an “interreligious prayer” and a “solidarity collection”, which will take place in the city of Dolores. In a statement read by Fernando’s parents following the seventh hearing, they said that with the call they seek to transform the “deep pain for the absence” of his only son into “solidarity and help for others, as he would like.”
The meeting will be held at the José Hernández amphitheater, in the city of Buenos Aires, and Fernando’s parents asked that those who come contribute non-perishable food or school supplies, which will be donated to different entities.
“I want you to come accompany me, please I beg you, that day is going to be very painful for us because time stopped forever on that date,” said Graciela while expressing her desire to “turn that day of pain into love and make what he liked, which was to show solidarity and help those in need”.
The mother of the victim maintained that she awaits the judgment of the process, and remarked: “Every time we get closer to that justice that we need for Fer, so that he can finally rest.”
