Mercedes F1 reports that Lewis Hamilton will be offered a two-year contract with an annual salary of 9.7 billion yen[F1-Gate.com]

Lewis Hamilton has reportedly been offered a two-year contract extension worth €70million a year by Mercedes F1.

Lewis Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes expires following the 2023 season, but the seven-time F1 world champion has repeatedly said he wants to stay with the team for years to come.

Lewis Hamilton has raced for Mercedes F1 since 2013 and has owed much of his success with the team in its turbo-hybrid era.

Mercedes F1 team boss Toto Wolff has said he plans to discuss a new contract with Lewis Hamilton over the winter break.

According to Sportune, Lewis Hamilton was offered a salary of €70 million per season, totaling €140 million over two years.

If this number is correct, it would be a significant increase from the current €45m contract, but unlike the current deal, the new extension will reportedly include a €25m bonus for winning the Formula 1 World Champion. It is said that it is not

Apart from the financial terms of the F1 deal, Lewis Hamilton is seeking an ambassador deal with Daimler (Mercedes-Benz), which is said to demand around €25 million a year.

Lewis Hamilton had his first winless season in F1 last year, when Mercedes struggled to keep up with Red Bull and Ferrari for the entire season.
