Resident Evil 4 Remake Steam Update is causing a stir

The change in the release date on the game’s Steam page is making fans nervous.

The upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4 has changed its release date on Steam, which has some fans concerned that the upcoming survival horror game may be delayed following all. Capcom announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake officially announced last year and wasted no time in confirming the March 24, 2023 release date.

However, since the original announcement, there have been a few changes to Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake plans. When Capcom first announced the remake, the game was going to be a next-gen exclusive, which meant fans might only watch it PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X would receive. In the months since the game’s announcement, Capcom added the PS4 added. There are rumors that there is also one Xbox One-Version of the remake might give. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

Nothing official has been announced regarding a possible postponement of Resident Evil 4 Remake either, but that hasn’t stopped fans from getting worried. The Steam page for the game has changed the game’s release date from March 24, 2023 to a vague “Coming Soon”. Understandably, this has led some fans to conclude that Capcom possibly planning to push back the release date of the remake.

However, fans shouldn’t worry just yet. Valve recently changed the way the Steam store handles release dates, giving publishers the option to simply list release dates as “Coming Soon” instead of providing specific information. This has resulted in a number of games having their Steam release dates changed to Coming Soon, including Bethesda’s open-world sci-fi RPG Starfield.

It’s not the first time a change in Resident Evil 4’s Steam information has caught the attention of fans. Capcom recently changed the title of the original Resident Evil 4 game on Steam, naming it Resident Evil 4 (2005) to differentiate it from the upcoming remake that will be released in the March is simply titled Resident Evil 4.

The remake will also bring some gameplay and story changes, but fans will have to wait until launch to see what it all means for the survival horror classic.

The game will be released on March 24th for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
