A 27-year-old Australian decided to seek medical help when she noticed that her breasts wouldn’t stop growing. She was diagnosed with gigantomastia, a rare and benign condition that can cause debilitating pain in patients, among other symptoms.
Pamelia James, who is an OnlyFans model, had already sought medical help because of pain in her back, neck and shoulders due to the weight of her breasts. However, she decided to investigate further when the bra she wore the most became too small.
The condition caused Pamelia’s bust circumference to increase from 100 cm in January 2022, to 114 cm in July and 131 cm in January 2023. In a note, the model states that it is an uncomfortable situation, as her breasts are heavy and she is in a lot of pain.
“At first it was fun and interesting to see how much they were growing, but recently I started to get uncomfortable. I feel like I’m getting stares for having such big breasts, so I tend to stay indoors. My mental health suffered from it,” she states.
Gigantomastia
Gigantomastia is a rare condition that causes breast tissue to enlarge rapidly and abnormally. The condition is believed to be caused by a number of factors, including hormonal changes, medications, autoimmune disorders, or genetics.
Generally, the condition is diagnosed when the breast weight makes up more than three percent of the total body weight. It can happen naturally in pregnancy, but with shrinkage shortly following delivery.
Breast reduction surgery is the only way to correct the problem and make the organ proportional to the body. The numbers are not clear as to the frequency of gigantomastia – however, several medical reports consider it rare.
Today, the model shares her experience on the TikTok social network, as she had not seen anyone post regarding gigantomastia. With the videos, Pamelia hopes her story will encourage people to think twice before judging her appearance.
