The city of Dakhla will house the 10th Edition of the International Conference on Micro-Irrigation (10IMIC), from January 25 to 27, 2023. Dealing with “ Micro Irrigation in the Era of Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation and organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God assist him, this edition is the 1time held in North Africa since the one held in Israel in 1971.
The choice of Morocco by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) follows the request made by the Moroccan committee to ICID. It was during the works of the 3th World Irrigation Congress which took place in Bali, Indonesia, from September 01 to 07, 2019. The organization will be provided by the National Association for Land Improvement, Irrigation, Drainage and the Environment ( ANAFIDE), in partnership with ICID and the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests and in collaboration with the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad (CCME).
It should be noted that this conference is an international, scientific and technical meeting which constitutes an opportunity for numerous experts, professionals and decision-makers, from different countries, to exchange their experiences in the field of the application of recent technological developments and the digitalization in terms of water saving and recovery. And this, with a view to sustainable development and better resilience to climate change.
For this edition, several countries are expected. Among these South Africa, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina-Faso, Senegal, Djibouti, Egypt, Mauritania, England, France, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, USA and Australia. Asian countries, namely Taiwan, Singapore, India, Japan, China will take part online.
