Public memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley on Sunday

Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who died at the age of 54, is to be buried on Sunday with a public memorial service at the Graceland family estate south of the city of Memphis (US state Tennessee). The service in memory of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley’s only child will begin on January 22 at 9 a.m. local time on the front lawn of the property, a statement said. The public is invited to come.

Instead of flowers, the Presley family would like donations to the Presley Foundation from anyone who wanted to give something, it said. The foundation then wants to use the money to support selected charities that are dedicated to children’s programs, art or education.

Last Friday, one day following the singer’s sudden death, her family announced that Lisa Marie Presley would find her final resting place at Graceland alongside her “beloved son Ben”. Benjamin Keough took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27. The grave of the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, Elvis Presley, who died in 1977, is also on the grounds of the Graceland villa, which today houses a museum and is a place of pilgrimage for fans.

Singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s marriage, died Thursday following a medical emergency at her home in California. Actress Priscilla Presley (77) had announced the death of her daughter.

The four-time Elvis daughter is survived by her 14-year-old twin daughters from her fourth marriage to Michael Lockwood and daughter Riley from her first marriage to musician Danny Keough. She was also intermittently married to pop star Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.
