Messi didn’t give me the welcome I expected when I joined the team; Argentinian coach
Lionel Scaloni is the coach who led Argentina to victory in the World Cup.
Under the leadership of Scaloni, Argentina won the Copa, Finalsima and World Cup titles and Messi won the Golden Ball under Scaloni.
Under Scaloni, Argentina have become a team that plays disciplined and intense football, a team that plays cohesively as a team rather than relying on stars.
Scaloni has now revealed that he had major concerns when he first arrived as coach of the Argentina national team at the age of 44 without enough experience.
Scaloni’s arrival to the team as a coach was heavily criticized due to his lack of experience.
He has now revealed that he thought his arrival in Argentina would upset senior star Messi, but nothing like that happened.
In an interview with El Partidazo radio, Scaloni said that Messi did not have a problem with his coaching position as he expected, and that he welcomed him into the team with great love.
“When I was coach, Messi received me with great joy and laughter. He said that we have many goals to achieve and move forward. I agree with him,’ Scaloni said.
Messi played 44 matches under Scaloni and scored 32 goals. Scaloni is also the coach who produced the best results for Messi.
But following the World Cup victory, many major sports media, including Marca, had previously reported that many big clubs in Europe were looking at Scoloni.
But he is yet to open up regarding his future plans. And there are no confirmed reports regarding Scaloni continuing as Argentina head coach.
