The Iraqi General Cement Company affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced that Samawah Cement Factory achieved a boom in production and sales during the past year.

The company’s general manager, Hussein Mohsen Obaid, said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “its Samawah cement plant has a boom in production with an amount of (797,676) tons, with a development rate of (88%), and sales with a development rate of (97%) over the past year.” .
He added, “The factory is moving at a steady and upward pace in production and marketing,” noting that “the cutting and processing machinery is available to all state institutions, citizens, contractors, and construction companies.”
He stressed the company’s keenness to improve the status of its factories at the production level through the continuation of maintenance work, the continuity of the production process, and the reduction of costs, pointing out that these verifications came with the efforts of the factory staff and the permanent cooperation with the investing company to implement the contractual clauses and systematic plans that are specified with time ceilings.
It is noteworthy that the Samawa Cement Factory was established in 1977 by a Danish company with a design capacity of (400) thousand tons per year to produce sulfur-resistant cement that conforms to the Iraqi standard specification.
