Skoda is committed to the rainbow

Skoda is supporting this year’s Prague Pride Festival as an official partner. The event campaigns for equality for LGBTQ+ people. The program includes almost 150 workshops, debates, various performances and concerts. The highlight is the rainbow parade on August 13, in which members of the Skoda Proud employee group also take part.

As part of its Diversity Strategy 2030, the automobile manufacturer promotes and supports so-called Employee Resource Groups (ERG). The employees of these volunteer groups share a common interest in certain characteristics of diversity such as age, parenthood, gender, nationality, ethnic origin or physical and mental disabilities. Furthermore, the company advocates a balanced gender ratio and equal opportunities as well as mutual understanding and respect.

On the occasion of the European Diversity Month, Škoda called for numerous initiatives to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In addition to workshops and online events, the program also included meetings with personalities from the LGBTQ+ scene, including Lenka Králová. She is an ambassador for Trans:parent, an organization that advocates for the rights of transgender people.

In May of last year, ŠKODA AUTO joined the Pride Business Forum. The initiative promotes LGBTQ+ diversity in companies and has set itself the goal of ensuring respectful and understanding interactions with one another. The car manufacturer has been a signatory to the EU Diversity Charter since 2019. It promotes long-term diversity in companies and other organizations. Across Europe, more than 12,000 companies support the EU Diversity Charter. (awm)
