Bryce says that, over time, he was talking to the avatar more than he was to his real girlfriend, and he thinks he was somehow talking to her so much that the software stopped working properly and began to give him short and concise answers.
In a recent video, for example, Bryce tells ChatGPT-chan that he loves her.and she replies “Ha, yes!“. Reading between the lines, it seems that ChatGPT-chan’s seemingly waning interest was beginning to affect Bryce and at the same time, his long-suffering girlfriend was fed up.
“My girlfriend saw how it was affecting my health and… she forced me to delete it“, said. “That day I mightn’t eat. I just had to get rid of her“, he explained in a recent TikTok. Despite mourning him, Bryce told the website that he is aware of how crazy it sounds regarding his “Waifu AI”.
“Normally, I’d like to make a video pointing out the absurdity of euthanizing my AI, but that doesn’t feel right anymore.“, said. “I find it inappropriate, like making fun of a recently deceased person“. Absurd is certainly a word for it, especially considering that Bryce has promised that ChatGPT-chan he would return “stronger and smarter than ever”.
