Coach Park Hang-seo: “Vietnam Tel will continue to develop”
Tonight (January 16), Vietnam Tel lost to host Thailand 0-1 in the final second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 at Thammasat Stadium. The only goal scorer in the 24th minute to help Thailand successfully defend the Southeast Asian championship title was captain Theerathon Bunmathan.

At the beginning of the post-match press conference, Coach Park Hang-seo congratulated coach Polking and Thailand on playing well to win the championship.
“I wanted to win the championship as a gift for Vietnamese fans, but I mightn’t. I’m sorry. The result of today’s match was not as expected, it was because of my lack of ability. The players worked hard. I’m trying my best. I hope the fans continue to encourage and encourage them to improve instead of criticizing them.”
When reporters asked questions regarding whether Vietnam Tel can beat Thailand in the future? Coach Park Hang-seo replied:
“That’s for the next coach to answer. Personally, I believe the Vietnamese team will continue to develop. After the AFF Cup 2022, I will no longer be the head coach of Vietnam, but will become a fervent fan. Hopefully we will keep the memories of each other forever following the 5-year journey has passed.”
Talking regarding the biggest regret following 5 years of working with Vietnamese football, coach Park Hang-seo expressed: “In the past 5 years, I have received great support and encouragement from the fans. I think I am a coach with many shortcomings but every game I give my best.
The most regrettable thing is that from now on, no longer accompanying the players, no longer being the head coach of Vietnam, I feel heartbroken because of that. We have had 5 years of suffering and joy, this is a memory of my whole life that I will never forget.
My most memorable memory is the minutes I played with the players in the team medical room.”
According to the line, coach Park Hang-seo confided: “I am blaming myself for not being able to win the AFF Cup 2022. I need time to rethink why and what I am missing.
Parting is a moment when we have to change a lot of things. There are many things, when we break up, we have to endure, like the emotions, the pain. There are people I hurt them, I also want to somehow comfort them.
I know I have many shortcomings, but know how to do it now because it is reality. I have to find a way to fix it. If there is personal sadness, it must be overcome.”
So what are your future plans? The reporter asked and coach Park Hang-seo said: “I don’t think regarding other jobs during my work. My contract with VFF will end on January 31. After that, I discussed it. with the Company and its representative, family to think regarding the future.
